CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. — Loveland Ski Area is ready for the winter ski and snowboard season.
The ski area announced Wednesday it will open for the winter season on Friday.
Loveland Ski Area said it will offer a top-to-bottom run covered with an 18-inch base on opening day. Chet's Dream will be open to skiers and riders from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
"We had some curveballs thrown at us with the warm weather, but we're ready to turn the lifts for the 2023/24 season," said Chief Operating Officer Rob Goodell. "Our dedicated snowmaking team has been working around the clock to take advantage of the cold temperatures, and Mother Nature helped out with some natural snow as well. We anticipate excellent conditions on Opening Day and are excited for another exceptional season at Loveland Ski Area."
Last year, Loveland Ski Area opened on Nov. 3.
Loveland Ski Area will operate seven days a week through Closing Day in early May. Lifts will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends and designated holidays.
Loveland Ski Area will be the fifth Colorado ski resort to open for the season, after Arapahoe Basin, which opened Oct. 29; Keystone, which opened Nov. 1; Eldora, which opened Nov. 3, and Winter Park, which opened Nov. 3.
Wolf Creek Ski Area in southeast Colorado will open Nov. 11.
