DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Chris Spears
FORECAST AT A GLANCE:
Welcome to Fall 2024, it officially arrived at 6:43 a.m. in Colorado. Today's weather will certainly feel like autumn as a storm slowly moves away. We'll keep some showers in the forecast until about noon before some drier air starts to work into the region.
Highs by this afternoon will be anywhere from 15 to 20 degrees below normal in Denver. The average high on Sept. 22 in the Mile High City is 77 degrees. We'll be lucky to hit 60 degrees today. Most of the state will be in the 50s and lower 60s. If you want anything warmer you'll need to visit the western side of the state.
The week ahead looks like it will be on the quiet side with plenty of sunshine and very mild temperatures statewide. A weak weather system will pass by the state late Monday and early Tuesday. It could kick off a few scattered showers but that would mostly be confined to the mountains.
Some of the forecast models show temperatures as warm as the upper 80s to near 90 degrees in Denver by the middle of the week. That is unusually warm for this time of year and flirting with record levels. For now, we will keep our highs in the lower to middle 80s in Denver, but we'll need to keep a close eye on just how strong the incoming ridge of high pressure will be.
SUNDAY: Scattered showers through late morning, then gradual clearing with a high around 59. Mostly clear overnight, low 43.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny and slightly cooler, high near 74. Quiet overnight, low 47.
