Warm and sunny, Friday afternoon

Sunny, warm weather continues through the end of the week, with snow chances next week.

DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Laurann Robinson

Sunny, warm weather continues through the end of the week, with highs in the lower 60s, Friday, ahead of nearly 70-degree highs, Saturday.

Sunday, we'll start to see our next system creep in from the west. Central and northern portions of the high country could see light snow showers by midday, Sunday. Meanwhile, the front range and eastern plains are looking to stay mostly dry, with just slight rain/snow chances. Additionally, afternoon highs drop into the middle 50s, Sunday, behind a cold front.

Continued snowfall is possible in the mountains, lasting from Sunday through Wednesday. These areas could see a couple feet of new snow during this time period, with the heaviest snow likely falling Monday and Wednesday. Watch for hazardous road conditions if you're heading up to the high country for the Thanksgiving holiday.

In Denver, we've issued a Potential Impact Day as we're tracking the potential for light snow showers, next Wednesday. Watch for these snow showers to impact your dinnertime travel!

Thanksgiving Day, be sure to wear your fall apparel! Afternoon temperatures are looking to be below-average, peaking in the lower 40s.
