DENVER — Another October storm brought rain, snow and colder temperatures to Colorado this week.
The weather created some wet roads and led to a few brief road closures for travelers during the morning commute. For the Denver metro area, snow started to taper off at about 8 a.m Thursday.

Closures
- All lanes of Highway 112 are closed at County Road 9N. A detour is in place.
- Highway 119 is closed in both directions at Sugarloaf Road due to a rock slide.
- US 50 is closed between County Road 66 and County Road 867 due to heavy snow.
Traction Law
- Passenger vehicle traction laws are in effect for:
- I-25 northbound between Monument and Castle Rock
- Loveland Pass
- US 285 between Pine Junction and Morrison
- US 285 between Baily and Jefferson
- HWY 91 between Leadville and Copper Mountain
- US 24 between Divide and Woodland Park
- US 24 between Minturn and Redcliff
- HWY 67 between Cripple Creek and Divide
- HWY 9 over Hoosier Pass
Warnings
- Colorado State Patrol in Castle Rock asked drivers to stay off Interstate 25 after 8 p.m.
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) advised travelers to avoid driving along Interstate 25 between Colorado Springs and south Denver starting Wednesday night.
"If you travel on I-25 between Colorado Springs and south Denver, avoid this stretch of highway Wednesday night (8 p.m. and later) and early Thursday morning, when the storm is expected to hit," CDOT said in a news release.
CDOT said crews will be out treating and plowing roads to make them as safe as possible for drivers. The speed limit on I-25 through the South Gap project area will be reduced to 45 mph through the duration of the storm. \
