The driver of the other vehicle stayed on the scene at Chambers and East Smith roads and is cooperating, Aurora Police said.

AURORA, Colo. — Aurora Police said officers are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist Saturday morning.

Police said they responded at 10:14 a.m. to a report of a crash near the intersection of East Smith Road and Chambers Road.

They found that a Chevrolet Cavalier was heading west on Smith Road, making a left turn into a business just east of the Chambers intersection, when a Honda motorcycle heading east on Smith Road ran into the passenger side of the car.

The 25-year-old man on the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 66-year-old driver of the car stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said. He was not hurt.

All lanes of East Smith Road were closed for about four hours between Chambers Road and Airport Boulevard while police investigated.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash camera footage and hasn't spoken to police is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
