Kuni Automotive bought by East Coast car-dealer chain to form $3B giant

Kuni Automotive — operator of five auto dealerships in Colorado — has been acquired by Holman Automotive Group, a large East Coast car-store chain.

Kuni Automotive — operator of five auto dealerships in Colorado — has been acquired by Holman Automotive Group, a large East Coast car-store chain.

In Colorado, Kuni operates Kuni Lexus stores in Greenwood Village and Colorado Springs; Kuni Honda in Centennial; Land Rover Denver in Littleton, which it acquired in 2012; and Audi Boulder, which it bought in 2013.

The Greenwood Village location broke ground in 2011.

Family-owned Kuni, based in Vancouver, Washington, was founded in 1970 by Wayne Kuni as a Cadillac dealership in Beaverton, Oregon. Today it operates 14 stores, also in Washington, Oregon, California and Kansas.
