KUSA – It's not often we receive #9Adventure submissions from the past, but that's exactly what I found in my mailbox at work this week.
I received a letter from a man named Mark Binder from Arvada. He wrote about a recent Colorado Adventures segment we broadcasted a few weeks back about the ghost town of Crystal.

Binder wrote, "[I] went there with my father and two brothers in the summer of 1954. We hiked from Marble as our '52 Chevy couldn't negotiate the road."
At the time, Binder said he was 11 years old. The trip to Crystal was his first, and it also happened to be his last. He said he hasn't been back since.
Along with the note, Binder also sent me some pictures of Crystal in 1954. They're attached to this story for you to enjoy.
Crystal was an old mining town in Gunnison County created in the 19th century. While no one lives there year round anymore, a few seasonal residents stay there during the summer.
Safe travels!
