DENVER — A winter storm has brought snow and freezing rain to Colorado, and some flights at Denver International Airport have been affected by the weather.
As of 3:50 p.m. Friday, there were 503 delays at Denver International Airport and two cancellations, according to FlightAware.
On Thursday, over 400 flights were delayed at Colorado's largest airport and 12 were canceled.
DIA said it typically handles anywhere from 1,700 to 2,000 flights daily.
The delays at Denver's airport have come as a winter storm blew through the state Thursday, which brought heavy snow to the Colorado mountains, foothills, plains and the Denver metro area.
The National Weather Service (NWS) said the Front Range mountains will see 4-8 inches of snow, Interstate 25 will see 1-3 inches in the western part of the state and a trace to 1 inch in the eastern part of the state.
Snow-covered roads will make travel hazardous, which could impact Friday morning commutes, according to the NWS.
