Denver International Airport has 2 of the most popular flights in the US

DENVER — Two Denver International Airport flights are among the nation’s most popular as air travel continues to improve following the devastation of the pandemic.

Flights from Denver to Phoenix and from Denver to Chicago O’Hare are in the top 10 busiest domestic flights for May 2021, according to data from flight tracker OAG.

The flight from Denver to Phoenix is the fourth-busiest flight in the country, with 215,136 seats scheduled for the month of May.

The only flights drawing more passengers are three routes out of Atlanta: one to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with 250,824 scheduled seats; one to Orlando, Florida, with 237,012 seats; and one to Miami with 230,626 seats.

Another Denver flight, to Chicago O’Hare, is the tenth-busiest flight in the U.S. That flight has 190,805 scheduled seats for the month of May.

Data is for flights in both directions on each route and reflects the most recent full calendar month for the busiest scheduled domestic routes. The busiest air routes are defined as those with the largest volume of scheduled airline seats in the current calendar month.
