DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Colorado is home to three of America's 11 finest resorts, and Denver is the site of four of the top 15 hotels in the Mountain West, according to this year's "Reader's Choice Awards" from Condé Nast Traveler magazine.

Gateway Canyons Resort in the Western Slope town of Gateway scores the highest among Colorado facilities on the national list, ranked in the survey of more than 77,000 readers as the third-best resort in the country.

The Fairmont Heritage Place, Franz Klammer Lodge in Telluride ranked 10th nationally in the survey, and the C Lazy U Ranch in Granby came in at 11th among America's top 25 resorts.

No Colorado hotels made it onto the list of the 25 best hotels in the country. But the state dominated the list of the 15 Best Hotels in the West, nabbing 13 of the spots on the list to Utah's two.

The Sebastian in Vail topped the regional list, followed by the Lumiére Telluride and the Hotel Madeline in Telluride.
