DENVER (AP) - Motorists on Interstate 70 in northern Colorado may need to prepare for longer journeys on Wednesday and Thursday.
The Colorado Department of Transportation is closing all I-70 lanes through Glenwood Canyon from 9 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. both Wednesday and Thursday for rockfall mitigation work.
Eastbound traffic will be closed at Exit 116 at Glenwood Springs. Westbound traffic will be stopped at Exit 133 at Dotsero.
CDOT says motorists should plan ahead on taking alternate routes from both directions and be aware of width restrictions in making those plans.
