2 cars go through guardrail on Interstate 70 Sunday morning

Colorado State Patrol said two people were taken to the hospital after the crash in the Loveland Pass area.

CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. — Two people were taken to the hospital after two cars went through a guardrail along Interstate 70 in Clear Creek County Sunday morning.

Colorado State Patrol (CSP) said troopers responded around 6:18 a.m. to a report of a rollover crash involving two vehicles at mile marker 216 in the area of Loveland Pass.

CSP did not have details on the severity of the victims' injuries.

Both lanes of I-70 and Loveland Pass were closed for an extended period Sunday morning while crews worked to recover the vehicles.

I-70 and Loveland Pass were back open just before 10 a.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
