BRIGHTON, Colo. — A road in Brighton was closed Monday after someone got part of their truck caught in the overhead telecom lines.
Brighton Police said from just before 11:30 a.m. until a little after 1 p.m., North 11th Avenue was closed between Denver Street and Longs Peak Street. That's just northeast of the US-85 and East Bridge Street interchange.
Police posted a picture of the stuck F-450 well service truck that had a pump hoist extended. The hoist appeared to get caught on the telephone and internet lines as the truck drove underneath, lifting the front of the truck into the air.
Brighton Police said it appears the driver accidentally left the pump hoist up.
No one was injured.
About 800 homes in the area lost power, according to United Power, who said they were asked to deenergize the power lines above so the truck could be safely removed. Power was restored about an hour after it was shut off.
Brighton Police asked people in the area to take alternate routes while their crews worked to remove the truck.
