JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — A semi truck full of food caught fire Wednesday morning on the west side of the Denver metro area.
The trailer fire closed the eastbound C-470 and the northbound U.S. 285 ramps around 6 a.m. in Jefferson County. SKY9 was over the scene as firefighters worked to put out the fire.
West Metro Fire Rescue said the truck's brakes caught fire and there were no injuries. The fire agency said the trailer was transporting potatoes.
Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the U.S. 285 ramp reopened around 6:30 a.m. The on ramp to C-470 eastbound was still closed, as of 6:30 a.m.
