THORNTON, Colo. — A pedestrian was killed in a crash on Interstate 25 in Thornton Thursday.
It happened on northbound I-25 near 84th Avenue a little before 6 p.m.
The highway was shut down for about two hours during the investigation, causing miles-long backups.
Around 8:15 p.m. the Colorado Department of Transportation said that while all lanes of I-25 had reopened, heavy traffic in the area remained.
Police have not said why the pedestrian was on the highway or released any other details about the cause of the crash or the driver involved.
