Denver Business Journal — When compared with the nation's top 20 metro areas, Denver drivers have some long commutes, but other cities are much worse.

The driving app Drivemode said it researched commute times in 20 big U.S. cities, and determined that Denver's longest rush hour drive time is between 4-5 p.m. daily, with commuting times as long as an average of 44.45 minutes. New Yorkers have the longest average commuting time, at 55.77 minutes, according the Drivemode.

But at least things are somewhat moving during Denver rush hour.

From 8-9 a.m., Denver drivers take 2.06 minutes to drive one mile, which is six-fastest in the country, compared with the nation's slowest city, Miami, where it takes drivers 2.91 minutes to cover one mile.
