AURORA, Colo. — A man was pronounced dead at a hospital on Wednesday after being clipped by one car while walking down the street then run over by another, Aurora police said.

Lt. Jad Lanigan said just before 6 p.m., an adult man was walking down Smith Road near Tower Road when the incident happened.

He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead due to injuries sustained in the collision, police said.

Lanigan said he wasn't sure whether the man was walking with or against traffic.

Both drivers stayed at the scene and haven't been cited with anything yet, he said. However, a third vehicle was reported to be involved but that motorist did not stay at the scene.

It's unknown whether the drivers were under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
