Roads across Colorado were virtually impassable Wednesday after the state was pummeled by a large snowstorm.
Authorities across the state cautioned drivers to avoid the roads -- in fact, the National Guard has been deployed to help with rescue missions.
Shailen Bhatt, the executive director of the Colorado Department of Transportation, called Wednesday's storm "a very extraordinary and significant event." All 500 of CDOT's plows were deployed, and Bhatt says there was nothing further CDOT could have done.

- Interstate 70 Eastbound from Airpark Road to Burlington (Milemarker 292-448) - Closed due to adverse conditions. Incident began March 23 at 10:18 a.m. Westbound reopened Thursday morning.
- US 6 Eastbound and Westbound at Loveland Pass (Milemarker 220-229) - Due to adverse weather conditions. Hazmat will be allowed access through the Eisenhower Tunnel at the top of the hour. Incident began March 23 at 11:14 p.m.
- US 24 Westbound and Eastbound from Colorado Springs to Limon (Milemarker 321-376) - Closed due to adverse conditions. Incident began March 23 at 10:41 a.m.
- US 36 Westbound and Eastbound from Byers to Kansas (Milemarker 101-224) - Closed due to adverse conditions. Incident began March 23 at 11:26 a.m.
- US 40 Westbound and Eastbound from Kit Carson to Limon (Milemarker 387-445) - Closed due to adverse conditions. Incident began March 23 at 10:22 a.m.
- US 287 Southbound and Northbound from Lamar to Kit Carson (Milemarker 77-133) - Closed due to adverse conditions. Incident began March 23 at 2:03 p.m.
- US 385 Southbound and Northbound from Wray to Holyoke (Milemarker 244-279) - Closed due to adverse conditions. Incident began March 23 at 3:10 p.m.
- CO 11 Southbound and Northbound from Julesberg to Nebraska (Milemarker 0-1) - Closed due to adverse conditions. Incident began March 23 at 1:56 p.m.
- CO 63 Southbound and Northbound from Anton to Akron (Milemarker 0-29) - Closed due to adverse conditions. Incident began March 24 at 6:54 a.m.
- CO 71 Southbound and Northbound from Limon to Brush (Milemarker 103-174) - Closed due to adverse conditions. Incident began March 23 at 11:24 a.m.
- CO 86 Westbound and Eastbound from Elizabeth to I-70 (Milemarker 15-59) - Road closed due to adverse conditions. Incident began March 23 at 10:35 a.m.
- CO 93 Southbound and Northbound in Golden between 64th and 72nd avenues - Closed due to a downed power line. Incident began March 24 at 3:35 a.m.
- CO 94 Westbound and Eastbound from Enoch to Punkin Center (Milemarker 9-54) - Closed due to adverse conditions. Incident began March 23 at 10:47 a.m.
