Man dead following auto-pedestrian crash in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colorado — Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that happened late Friday night, leaving a man dead.

The crash was reported on West 56th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard around 10:08 p.m., according to CSP.

A vehicle hit a 40-year-old man from Arvada, CSP said. The man died from his injuries, CSP said.

The driver of the vehicle was a 50-year-old man from Denver, according to Master Trooper Gary Cutler with CSP. It is unclear what, if any, charges the driver would be facing.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office following notification of next of kin.
