AURORA, Colo. — Interstate 70 will be closed in both directions in Aurora Monday night while crews finish work on a pedestrian bridge over the highway.
The highway will be closed in both directions between Colfax Avenue and Tower Road.
Westbound lanes will close at 8 p.m. on Monday and eastbound lanes will close at 10 p.m. Both directions of the highway are scheduled to reopen at 5 a.m. Tuesday.
The following detours will be in place during the closure:
- Westbound traffic will need to exit I-70 at Colfax Avenue, continue west on Colfax Avenue, then north on Tower Road to return to I-70.
- Eastbound traffic will to need to exit I-70 at Tower Road, continue south on Tower Road, then east on Colfax Avenue to return to I-70.
The construction of the bridge just east of Tower Road is part of the Aurora High Line Canal Trail improvement project, which began in January and is scheduled to be completed this spring.
