ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. — Two people are dead after a crash on Interstate 70 near the East Colfax Avenue frontage road.
At 5:53 a.m. on Saturday the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) tweeted, that all eastbound lanes of I-70 are closed at the E. Colfax Avenue frontage road due to a fatal crash.
Officer said the crash involved a semi-truck and an SUV. Colorado State Patrol (CSP) said two people died in the crash.
All eastbound lanes were detoured at the frontage road. Eastbound lanes of I-70 were closed for about three hours as crews worked to clean up the crash. Roads reopened around 9:05 a.m.
Details on what caused the crash have not been released. ACSO and CSP are investigating the crash.
