DENVER — A crash near the National Western Stock Show grounds on Interstate 70 closed the highway headed west for about an hour and a half on Sunday afternoon, according to the Denver Police Department.

DPD says all lanes of I-70 westbound at Colorado Boulevard were blocked because of a two-vehicle crash with injuries.

According to a police spokesperson, a minivan made an abrupt lane change just east of the Brighton Blvd exit at around 12:50 p.m. and collided with a sedan in the left lane.

Two people in the sedan were taken to the hospital, but police don't know whether their injuries were serious.

The driver of the minivan was cited for careless driving resulting in injury and making an unsafe lane change.

The road was back open at around 2:15 p.m. This crash happened about 2 miles from the National Western Stock Show, which was in full swing on Sunday.
