Fatal crash involved 4 vehicles on I-270

The crash happened early Thursday morning and involved four cars.

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is investigating a crash on Interstate 270, east of Interstate 25, that left one person dead.

CSP was notified of the crash at about 4:14 a.m. on Thursday. According to Trooper Josh Lewis with CSP, four vehicles were involved in the crash. Nobody else involved in the crash was injured.

Troopers closed down westbound lanes of I-270 as they tried to determine what caused the crash. The interstate was closed for hours, forcing traffic to be diverted onto York Street during the morning commute.

The Adams County Coroner's Office will provide the identity of the victim after next of kin has been notified.
