GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. — Seven vehicles were involved in a crash that killed a motorcyclist and left another injured Wednesday evening.
The ensuing cleanup closed northbound Interstate 25 for hours between Dry Creek and Orchard Road Wednesday evening. The crash was first reported just after 6 p.m. near the Arapahoe Road exit, and in a news release distributed at 8:30 p.m., the Greenwood Village Police Department (GVPD) said there is no known time for when the interstate will reopen.
Of the seven vehicles involved in the crash, two were motorcycles. The motorcyclist who survived was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Police did not know the conditions of the five other drivers involved in the crash, or their passengers.
It’s unclear what caused the crash, which caused long delays on the interstate.
Police encouraged drivers to avoid the area and take another route if at all possible.
