COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — U.S. 85 is back open after a crash that involved seven vehicles including a semitruck and dump truck.
The pileup happened on U.S. 85 near East 104th Avenue just after 11:30 a.m., according to Colorado State Patrol. There is no word on what caused the crash.
Three people were transported to hospitals with minor injuries, according to the South Adams County Fire Department.
Commerce City Police initially said the driver who caused the crash left the scene, but Colorado State Patrol later clarified that all seven vehicles involved stayed on the scene.
A semitruck and dump truck were both involved in the crash and ended up on their sides on the highway, Commerce City Police said. A picture of the scene shows at least two other vehicles with damage.
