One driver died and another was injured after a two-vehicle crash at the Northbound I-225 ramp to South Parker Road early Friday morning, Aurora police said.
The crash was reported shortly before 5:30 a.m., and involved a Mercedes Benz sedan and a Toyota SUV.
Aurora Police said it appears the driver of the Mercedes Benz ran a red light while crossing onto South Parker Road from the NB I-225 ramp.
Both drivers were taken to a local hospital, and one later died from injuries in the crash.
No other occupants were in either vehicle. Police said they don’t believe speed, alcohol or drugs are factors in the crash.
All of Southbound South Parker Road was closed at South Peoria Street for the investigation, but has since reopened.
