1 dead after crash in northeast Denver

DENVER — The Denver Police Department (DPD) is investigating a fatal crash that happened overnight.

DPD first tweeted about the crash just before 1 a.m. Saturday. Two vehicles were involved in a crash near East 56th Avenue and North Joliet Street, according to the tweet. That's on the south side of the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge.

Police said that one driver was declared dead at the scene.

Police did not release information about either driver involved in the crash or the condition of the second driver. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
