Crash closes northbound I-25 in south Denver

At least four cars were involved in the crash Sunday night on northbound I-25 at Colorado Boulevard.

DENVER — A portion of northbound Interstate 25 in south Denver was closed Sunday night due to a crash involving at least four cars, the Denver Police Department said. 

Police said the crash happened just after 9 p.m. on northbound I-25 at Colorado Boulevard. Police said three people were taken to the hospital. Two are in serious condition, and one is in critical condition, police said Sunday night. 

Police are working to determine what caused the crash. 

The Colorado Department of Transportation said the northbound lanes of the highway were closed at Colorado Boulevard and at Hampden Avenue. It's unclear when the interstate will reopen, but police said the closure was expected to last several hours.
