JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — A crash involving a semi has led to an hours-long closure of Highway 285 near Indian Hills Friday afternoon.
The crash happened just after noon, according to tweets from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Northbound Highway 285 is closed between Parmalee Gulch Road and Highway 8. It's not clear how long that closure is expected to last.
The southbound lanes of the highway were also closed for about an hour, before reopening about 1 p.m. The Colorado Department of Transportation said the northbound lanes reopened at 11 p.m. Friday.
Details surrounding the crash have not been released, but Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District said two people were injured. It was unclear how many vehicles were involved in the crash.
Pictures from Colorado State Patrol (CSP) show the semi rolled over into Turkey Creek. Troopers said they are investigating and working a hazmat stabilization.
Delays are expected in the area.
