AURORA, Colo. — Drivers are being asked to avoid Parker Road and Hampden Avenue Friday night because police said the road is buckling.
The repairs are expected to take "at least all night," Aurora police said.
Southbound Parker Road and westbound Hampden Avenue are shut down in the area.
This is not the first time Parker Road has buckled in the heat.
According to the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office, northbound Parker Road just north of Broncos Parkway buckled due to the high heat in July 2018.
In June 2017, crews had to repair two stretches of Parker Road after they buckled: between Belleview and Stroh Road as well as at East Valley Drive south of Denver.
