AURORA, Colo. — The Aurora Police Department (APD) said on Friday they arrested a man in connection to a fatal hit-and-run crash the day before.
Daniel Saenz-Moreno, 27, was arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident involving a death, according to APD.
The crash happened Thursday morning on Peoria Street near East Montview Boulevard, APD said.
A pedestrian was transported from the scene with life-threatening injuries, according to police. Police later said the man had died.
The man killed was identified by the Adams County Coroner's Office as 69-year-old Ar'Raheem Amin Rasheed Ahmad Iban Rasheed.
Police were able to find the suspect vehicle nearby, but the driver was not identified, police said.
Peoria was closed for hours between East Montview Boulevard and East 17th Avenue while police processed the scene.

Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation.
From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
