ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. — One person is dead Monday morning after an auto-pedestrian crash.
The crash happened near East Arapahoe Road and South Dexter Street, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office. That's between South Holly Street and South Colorado Boulevard in Centennial.
The sheriff's office first tweeted about the crash at about 7:14 a.m. All eastbound lanes of East Arapahoe Road at South Dexter Street were initially closed due to the crash, the sheriff's office said. Just before 8:30 a.m., all eastbound lanes had reopened.
In an update about 8 a.m., the sheriff's office posted on the social platform X that the pedestrian, 62-year-old Garth Donato, had died and the driver of the vehicle was being cooperative and did remain on scene.
