KUSA - It's a bittersweet day at 9NEWS as we say goodbye, good luck and fly high to our very own Amelia Earhart.
She's leaving 9NEWS to chase her dreams and fly around the world in June, recreating her namesake's flight. She'll be running her own non-profit, the Fly With Amelia foundation as well as pursue her aviation goals.
The 9News morning team will miss her dearly. She's been a bright spot in many of our mornings. Her shining spirit and sunny smile made it easier to wake up and come into work at o'dark-thirty. She's an inspiration to us all to take risks and shoot for the stars. We'll take her sense of adventure with us wherever we go! Thanks for all the laughs, Amelia. And remember the door is always open for you!
