GOLDEN — Two people were taken to the hospital following a fiery crash that involved a semi truck and 6 other vehicles.
The crash happened Wednesday afternoon on eastbound Interstate 70 near Colfax, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The truck with overheated brakes collided with 6 other vehicles and then caught fire, CSP said in a Tweet. The crash shut down the highway for hours as crews worked to clean up the mess and clear the vehicles from the road.
The truck was carrying a load of potatoes from the San Luis Valley and was on its way to Pennsylvania, CSP said.
There was also a fuel spill as a result of the crash.
