Recycle old electronics at e-cycling event in Aurora

Electronics tossed in the trash cause environmental problems and are banned from Colorado landfills.

AURORA, Colo. — The City of Aurora will host its next e-cycling event from March 6 to March 11.

Aurora's e-cycling partner Techno Rescue will accept most electronic items at 3251 Lewiston St. with discount pricing.

The event will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Aurora said desktop computers, laptops, cellphones, tablets, gaming equipment, consumer electronics and similar items are accepted. 

A fee of $5 will be charged per vehicle/individual for one standard grocery bag and $10 per vehicle/individual for any load greater than one standard grocery bag. Cash, debit card or credit card are preferred as payment.

Additional fees will be applied to recycle these items:

  • Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) monitors: $5 each 
  • Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) monitors and televisions 32 inches and under, and all sizes of flat screen televisions: $30 each 
  • CRT monitors and televisions 33 inches and over: $50 each 
  • Floor model printers: $40 each 
  • Projection, Digital Light Processing (DLP) and Console televisions: $100 each

More recycling dates are scheduled for July 17 to 21 and July 24 to 29; Oct. 2 to 7; and Dec. 26 to 29, and Jan. 2 to 6, 2024.
