Just when you thought Tony Romo was out of the news in Denver...

It seems this city can't avoid connections with the now former Dallas Cowboys quarterback. That goes for football and even all other sports.

After a long offseason of the Denver Broncos reportedly being very interested in the 36-year-old Romo, another Denver team will be coming face to face with the football player turned broadcaster.

Tuesday night, the Dallas Mavericks will be making him an honorary member of their basketball team for their home game against the--you guessed it--Denver Nuggets.

Romo already participated in the team's shootaround in the morning, but his involvement with the Mavs will go a lot farther than that.

He'll also reportedly be warming up with the team prior to tip-off, and will be sitting on the bench during the game in a Dallas uniform.

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban--who is close with Romo--helped facilitate all of the night's plans.

Both the Nuggets and Mavericks have already been eliminated from playoff contention, but that doesn't mean Romo will get to actually play in the game. (He hasn't played competitive basketball since high school).

Instead, he'll have a great view of the game from the bench, where he can think about the many Nuggets games he could have watched courtside if he ended up playing football in Denver.
