COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — The United States Women’s National Team is heading back to Colorado.
The No. 1-ranked USWNT will take on No. 6 Australia at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at 7 p.m. (MT), according to sources close to the event.
The match will be one of 10 to be played in a tour dubbed “Countdown to the Cup”. Eight of those matches will be held in the U.S. while the other two will be played in Europe.
This will be the 6th time that Dick's Sporting Goods Park has hosted the USWNT.
The last time the red, white and blue played in Commerce City was a 3-1 victory against New Zealand on September 15, 2017. Team USA has never lost a match at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
The U.S. owns a 25-1-3 all-time series record against the Australia. The last time these two sides met was a 1-1 draw in the 2018 Tournament of Nations. They also played each other at Dick's Sporting Goods Parkin 2012, a 6-2 victory for the Americans.
The United States Women’s National Team currently has two Colorado natives on their roster, forward Mallory Pugh and midfielder Lindsey Horan.
The 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup will be held in France next summer.
