Woman dies in skiing 'incident' at Loveland ski resort

Loveland Ski Area said the woman "was involved in an incident" on the Double Dip ski run at the resort Friday.

LOVELAND, Colo. — A woman died while skiing at Loveland Ski Area Friday in what the resort referred to as an "incident." 

The resort said it happened on the Double Dip ski run inside the resort around 1:20 p.m. on Friday. Loveland did not provide any other details about the incident. 

Ski patrol was in the area and responded immediately, the resort said. The resort said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Clear Creek County Coroner's Office has identified her as 22-year-old Trina Pappas of Dyer, Indiana.

The ski resort said, "Loveland Ski Area extends its deepest condolences to the friends and family of the skier."
