Wolf Creek opening for the 2024-25 season

The southern Colorado ski area has announced their opening day for the upcoming ski and snowboard season.

PAGOSA SPRINGS, Colo. — Powder hounds rejoice! A popular ski area in southern Colorado has announced their opening date for the 2024-25 ski and snowboard season.

Wolf Creek will open Tuesday, October 22, for 7-day-a-week operations. The ski area posted the announcement early Monday morning on the social platform X.

The Bonza, Treasure and Nova lifts will be operating from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wolf Creek announced on their website. This will give riders access to about 30% of the mountain. The Magic Carpet will be open for the Wolf Pup & Wolf Rider Programs.

Last season, Wolf Creek started operating their lifts on Nov. 11 and started 7-day-a-week operations on Nov. 17.

Uphill traffic is discouraged due to large equipment moving and snow-making operations, the ski area said.

Lift tickets will be $68 for adults, $49 for seniors and $34 for children.

This will be Wolf Creek's 85th season. To kick off Wolf Creek’s 85th Anniversary, Opening Day festivities will take place with skiers and boarders who are wearing the anniversary colors of red and gold receiving a commemorative 85th anniversary sticker.

More information about the ski area's opening can be found on the Wolf Creek website.
