ASPEN, Colo. — A skier died after colliding with a tree at an Aspen ski resort Saturday.
According to a statement from Aspen Skiing Company, a 22-year-old woman crashed into a tree on the Exhibition run at Aspen Highlands just before 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
Ski patrol responded immediately, the statement said. She was unconscious and unresponsive, and they started performing life-saving measures immediately.
The woman was pronounced deceased just after noon.
"We are deeply saddened by this tragic accident and our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time," the statement said.
