COLORADO, USA — Former NASA astronaut Vance Brand wants to donate 40 acres to Rocky Mountain National Park, but Congress has to sign off on it first.
Brand is a Colorado native who said he wants to donate the land as a way to give back after all the experiences he's enjoyed at the park.
The property is on the east side of the park in the Longs Peak region.
If the bills are passed, it would also settle a longtime dispute over a family's cabin — the land it sits on was accidentally transferred to the park in the early 1970s.
