If you were on the internet at all on Monday night or Tuesday, you saw “angry Michael Phelps.”
The facial expression Phelps gave South African swimmer Chad Le Clos after the 24-year-old taunted him before the men’s 200-m butterfly semi-final was threatening enough to make you think the now-21-time gold medal winner is a Sith lord.
And on Tuesday night, Phelps got his revenge.

He handily defeated Le Clos in the 200m butterfly. You might remember how Le Clos beat Michael Phelps in the event during the 2012 London Olympics – and spent the next four years not shutting up about it.
On Tuesday night, Le Clos didn’t even medal.
As for Phelps? After he got his victory, he raised his hands and basically said ‘come at me, bro.’
