PARIS, France — The artistry and wonder of the Paris Olympics opening ceremony has delighted millions as the world celebrates the kickoff to the Summer Games.
Friday's ceremony has featured thousands of Olympians sailing down the Seine during a Parade of Nations.
For an Opening Ceremony dubbing itself as "the largest in Games history," there has also been several big surprises, including mysterious guests, surprise musical performances and unusual artistic demonstrations.
Social media came alive Friday while the first-of-its-kind opening ceremony played out on live television.
