PARIS, France — U.S. gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik has heard all of the comparisons to Superman and Captain America, and he played up to them after an epic performance in the pommel horse final Saturday.
Team USA's pommel horse specialist earned a bronze medal and celebrated by donning an American flag in a cape-like manner.
He has embraced the internet's comparisons to Clark Kent and the like.
"I will definitely take that," Nedoroscik said on the Today Show.
Nedoroscik was given the nickname "Pommel Horse Guy" after grabbing the attention of the internet earlier this week while helping deliver a long-awaited win for the men's gymnastics team.
Many on social media applauded Nedoroscik for wearing his glasses during the men's team final, rather than opting to wear contact lenses.
