PARIS, France — A new channel on Peacock could change the way the Olympics are viewed on broadcast and streaming television.
Peacock has unveiled its new "Gold Zone" streaming show for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The channel from NBCUniversal's coverage of the Summer Games streams live on Peacock from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern Time each day throughout the Paris Games.
The show provides "whip-around" coverage of the Olympics, similar to the "NFL Red Zone" channel on cable and satellite during the football season.
NBC even hired "NFL Red Zone" host Scott Hanson to anchor Gold Zone, along with Jac Collinsworth, Andrew Siciliano, and Matt Iseman.
With up to 40 events happening simultaneously during the Paris Olympics, Gold Zone takes viewers to the best and most compelling live moments happening at any time.
Peacock said its Gold Zone producers scan all the live sports underway to bring every "gold medal moment" to viewers as it happens.
In addition to Peacock, Gold Zone will also be available on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app via “TV Everywhere” for customers with pay-TV subscriptions. Every Olympic event is airing on Peacock during the Paris Olympics.
