EUGENE, Ore. — After breaking her foot at the 2021 Olympic Trials, Anna Hall is now officially heading to her first Olympics.
Greenwood Village native Anna Hall officially qualified for her first Olympics Monday night in the heptathlon at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials in Eugene.
Hall broke her foot at the 2021 Olympic Trials after crashing into a barrier and will now compete at the Olympics for the first time. Hall won the women's heptathlon Monday six months after undergoing a complex knee surgery.
“I’m almost in shock,” Hall said after running the 800m. “This year has been so hard. Falling in 2021, the journey to get here was so much harder than I imagined. I’m just so thankful.”
The U.S. Olympic Team Trials continue Thursday night, after the U.S. Presidential Debate, on 9NEWS, NBC and Peacock. Tune in to see some of the best track and field athletes and gymnasts in the country compete to make the toughest team in the world, all leading up to the Paris Olympics this summer.
The Paris Olympics officially begin Friday, July 26, but some competitions begin Wednesday, July 24, and Thursday, July 25. About 10,500 athletes from more than 200 nations will compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
