9NEWS programming changes for the 2024 Summer Olympics

Most regular NBC programming will not air July 26 through Aug. 11 during the Paris Olympic Games.

DENVER — As the 2024 Summer Olympics get started on Friday, most regular NBC programming will take a break for a couple of weeks.

The Olympic Games are bringing changes to much of 9NEWS' regular programming between July 26 and Aug. 11. That includes "NBC News Daily," "Dateline," "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and some 9NEWS news programs.

9NEWS will return to its regular schedule Aug. 12.

Here are the daytime shows on KUSA that are affected during the Olympics:

  • "Today" will air from 7 to 8 a.m., followed by daytime Olympics coverage.
  • "Colorado and Company" will air at noon on KTVD.
  • "Today with Hoda and Jenna," which usually airs at 11 a.m. weekdays, is preempted.
  • "NBC News Daily," which usually airs at 1 p.m. weekdays, is preempted.
  • "Dateline," which usually airs at 2 p.m. weekdays, is preempted.
  • “Daily Blast Live,” which usually airs at 3 p.m. weekdays, will air at 11:30 a.m. on KTVD.
  • "Meet the Press" is preempted on July 28, Aug. 4 and Aug. 11.
  • "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" is preempted starting Monday, July 29.
  • "Late Night With Seth Meyers" is preempted starting Friday, July 26.

Fans of "Dateline" can watch episodes at 9 a.m. on KTVD, and "Colorado and Company" will air on KTVD at noon.

There are also changes to when to watch some 9NEWS and NBC news shows:

  • On weekdays, 9NEWS at noon and 4 p.m. are preempted. The only exception is that 9NEWS at 4 p.m. will air on Friday, July 26.
  • "Nightly News With Lester Holt" will air at 5:30 p.m. throughout the Olympics except for when it will air at 6 p.m. on Saturdays.
  • “Olympic Zone” airs at 6:30 p.m. every day except Sundays starting on Saturday, July 27, followed by primetime Olympics coverage.
  • 9NEWS at 10 p.m. will air as usual except when it will air at 10:30 p.m. on July 26, July 30 and Aug. 3.

9NEWS will continue to air 9NEWS Mornings, 9NEWS at 5 p.m. and "Next With Kyle Clark" at their regular times through the Olympics.
