DENVER — An Avalanche fan favorite is staying put.
Right winger Logan O'Connor was signed to a six-year contract extension, Colorado announced Monday afternoon.
The veteran forward is an alum of the University of Denver and played a role on the team's run to the 2022 Stanley Cup championship. The extension will keep the 28-year-old O'Connor in an Avalanche sweater through the 2030-31 NHL season.
O'Connor has played his entire career with Colorado after signing as a free agent in 2018. He underwent season-ending hip surgery in March that cut his 2023-24 season short after 57 games.
"We are thrilled to have ‘OC’ under contract for the next seven years," general manager Chris MacFarland said in a statement.
"He is a relentless worker and competitor who brings energy and grit to the lineup every night. His speed and skating ability makes him a dangerous two-way player and he is one of our top penalty killers. Logan is also a great teammate and takes pride in being a part of the Denver community."
