DENVER — Jack Johnson is joining the Colorado Avalanche...again.
The 36-year-old veteran defenseman will reunite with the club he helped win the 2022 Stanley Cup with in June after playing in 58 games for the Chicago Blackhawks this season.
Colorado sent defenseman Andreas Englund to Chicago in exchange for Johnson.
Now in his 17th year in the NHL, Johnson’s career has included stints with the Los Angeles Kings, Columbus Blue Jackets, Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers. He has dressed in 43 career Stanley Cup Playoff contests, notching 21 points (5g/16a).
Johnson was selected by Carolina with the third overall pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
