KANSAS CITY, Kan. — For the first time, an NFL playoff game will be available exclusively through streaming and not on broadcast TV when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Miami Dolphins.
The game scheduled for a 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City will only air on NBC's streaming service Peacock.
Peacock is $5.99 per month for the premium subscription with ads. It’s $11.99 for the premium plus option without ads.
The game will still be available on TV for local markets.
The temperature could drop below 0 by kickoff, which would make it one of the coldest games in NFL history.
There have been four games to kickoff with below-freezing temperatures, according to NBC Sports:
- -13 degrees - 1967 "Ice Bowl" NFL Championship - Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers
- -9 degrees - 1982 "Freezer Bowl" AFC Championship - San Diego Chargers at Cincinnati Bengals
- -6 degrees - 2016 Wild Card game - Seattle Seahawks at Minnesota Vikings
- -1 degree - 2008 NFC Championship game - New York Giants at Green Bay Packers
There's been no word yet on whether Taylor Swift will make another appearance.
